No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker competitor on the globe by quite a few of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching the age of 1. His grandfather taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to discover every little thing he could about the game. He routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not allow the adverse comments from other people annihilate his ambition of becoming one of the best poker competitors in the world.
Phil began competing seriously after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his game at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The first few years for him were a learning period and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved 2 final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he destroyed quite a few of the well known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to hard work and an immeasurable passion for the game of poker. He says that he is picking up skills every day and is incredibly humble about his accomplishments. He admits to making mistakes every single session of poker and constantly aspires to improve.
Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a regular basis.
